Ceremony for the Award of Distinctive Ranks to HMACSO Cadets

On Thursday, 10 September 2026, a ceremony for the award of distinctive ranks to the male and female cadets of the Senior Class was held at the Headquarters of the Hellenic Military Academy of Combat Support Officers (HMACSO).

The prescribed distinctive ranks were awarded to the School Sergeant Major, the Squadron First Sergeants, as well as to the remaining cadets appointed to non-commissioned officer duties. The awards were presented by the Commandant of the Academy, Brigadier General Matthaios Savvidis.

The award of distinctive ranks constitutes an expression of recognition of the cadets’ conduct, efforts, and contribution throughout their course of studies to date. Above all, however, it marks the assumption of increased duties and responsibilities, requiring them to discharge their duties with the highest standards of responsibility and professionalism, while serving as examples of ethos, discipline, and military conduct to the personnel placed under their leadership.

Addressing the male and female cadets, the Commandant of the Academy congratulated them on their achievements to date and wished them every success in the performance of their new duties. He urged them to meet the increased demands of their new role with ethos, consistency, responsibility, and an unwavering sense of duty, remaining firmly committed to the principles, values, and ideals upheld by the Academy.

Finally, he called upon them to remain steadfast supporters of their junior colleagues, going beyond the formal role of seniority and serving as exemplary leaders and effective mentors, passing on the knowledge, experience, and values they have acquired throughout their studies at the Academy.
