The Hellenic Military Academy of Combat Support Officers has, over time, become a unique educational institution where military training meets scientific excellence, and discipline is combined with ethos and social contribution.
The mission of the Academy goes far beyond the transmission of knowledge. It focuses on shaping well-rounded personalities: officers with scientific competence, operational readiness, and deep awareness of the human factor. Officers who are called to serve not only the Armed Forces, but society as a whole.
Upon completion of their military and academic education, the cadets of the Academy staff critical Combat Support sectors across all three Branches of the Hellenic Armed Forces, in the fields of Medical Services (Physicians, Dentists, Pharmacists, Veterinarians, Psychologists), Finance, Conscription–Military Legal Services, and Information Technology, responding to the demands of a modern and technologically evolving operational environment.
My vision is clear: a demanding yet fair Academy, human-centered in its approach, with high standards, where scientific thinking, physical well-being, psychological resilience, and collective responsibility are cultivated in parallel.
The Academy’s emblem accurately reflects the dual role of the officer–scientist. Athena’s owl symbolizes wisdom and knowledge, while the spears represent readiness to defend the homeland. The School’s motto, “Discipline is the Mother of Right Action,” remains a timeless guide: discipline forms the foundation of correct conduct and success.
In a rapidly changing world, marked by complex threats and increasing demands, SSAS is called upon to prepare officers with clear judgment, scientific competence, and integrity of character. Officers capable of supporting Units and Personnel of the Armed Forces, while simultaneously providing a strong sense of security to the Greek people.
I am confident that, through the dedication of its staff and the continuous effort of our cadets, the School will continue to deliver high-caliber officers to the Hellenic Armed Forces—worthy of its history and fully prepared for the challenges of the future.
