Completion of the Common Module “Biosafety & Bioterrorism” at Hellenic Military Academy of Combat Support Officers under the auspices of the ESDC

From 11 to 15 May, the educational activity Common Module “Biosafety & Bioterrorism” was conducted at the Hellenic Military Academy of Combat Support Officers, under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College — ESDC.

The educational activity was attended from 48 trainees, 40 cadets from Military Academies, representing 5 countries and 12 Academies, as well as 8 civilians from 3 countries and 5 Universities, Institutions and Organisations, giving the activity a strong international, joint and interdisciplinary character.

The aim of the Common Module was to provide specialised knowledge and skills in the fields of biosafety, biosecurity and the response to bioterrorism threats, with emphasis on both theoretical training and practical application. The programme included lectures, practical training, applied scenarios and exchange of experience among the participants.

The contribution of the Joint CBRN Defence School was particularly significant, as it provided specialised instructors for the implementation of part of the theoretical and practical training.

The successful conduct of the Common Module highlighted the role of the Hellenic Military Academy of Combat Support Officers as an institution of extroversion, international cooperation and high-level military education. At the same time, it confirmed the importance of cooperation among Military Academies, Universities, Institutions and Organisations in fields of contemporary operational and scientific interest.
