From the 29th of May to the 2nd of June 2023, three (3) cadets participated in the common module “Biosafety and Bioterrorism” which was organized under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) in the School of Applied Military Studies in Turin, Italy. Forty-three (43) military academies’ cadets and civilian universities students participated in total, from six (6) different countries (Italy, Portugal, Greece, Spain, Romania and Poland).
The main object of the course was the training in recognizing-countering bioterrorism threats along with the principles of biosafety, and most important the intensification of substantial cooperation between military academy cadets from the European Union member countries.
Working in groups and team activities contributed to deepening and updating the knowledge of the participants regarding Biosafety and Bioterrorism while the interaction of the participants through exchanging opinions resulted in understanding the need to create a common European culture among the future officers of the EU member states’ Armed Forces.
