From the 27th to the 28th of May 2021 HMACSO’s Commander Major General Dimitrios Bolomitis and HMACSO’s Director of Academics Col(Vet) Efstathios Chronis, participated in the European Union Military Academies Commandants’ Seminar (EUMACS) 2021 which was organized and conducted in Lisbon, by the Portuguese Military Academy (Academia Militare) under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC).
The main purpose of the Seminar was to improve international cooperation among Higher Education Military Institutions.
Furthermore, the event covered presentations, debates and latest information concerning the activities of the European Initiative for the Exchange of Young Military Officers (Military Erasmus), such as the Common Modules, the International Semesters and the creation of a common understanding on the training of future EU Officers. Additionally, there was a presentation of the structure and mission of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC) , which is the responsible organization of the European External Action Service (EEAS) concerning the training on Common Security and Defense Policy.
The participants were given the opportunity to exchange views on a wide range of issues, such as the educational activities of their Institutions, their coordination and cooperation at EU level, and in particular the Military Erasmus Initiative and the development of synergies on exchanging training methods and practices through the staff and students’ mobilities.
